 Medical tourism is a term not heard 10 years ago, but with the huge increase in medical costs in the US, more and more people are opting to go out of the country for plastic surgery or cosmetic surgery, where the rates are so much lower. The procedures are so much less expensive, and the total out of pocket, including air travel and hotels, will be less than what the surgery would cost here. The lodging is less, the meals are less, and the surgery is about half what you would pay for it in the US. My neighbor routinely goes to Mexico for dental tourism with great results.
Almost all the doctors at these cosmetic surgery clinics are trained in the US, and they have state of the art facilities to perform the surgery. So if you want to combine a vacation along with an much less expensive medical procedure, going out of the country is certainly one avenue to consider. You will save big money and once you start feeling better, enjoy your stay, as well.
